Listen to your body – Your body is more than you know
A lady called this morning, saying that her left eyebrow was twitching. She said it felt uncontrollable, and she wanted to know what to do. I encouraged her to listen to her body. She agreed to do the practice and hung up. A few minutes later, she called and said that her breathing had become shallow and she was anxious. When I asked her the cause of her anxiety, she said that she had to move house, and that was causing her anxiety.
When you ease yourself sitting on the pot, do you realise how wide your eyelids open and when your bowels don’t clear, your eyelids droop? Do you realise how the body resists swallowing fast foods such as pasta and pizza?
Your body signals to you about its feelings. Here are some self-tests you can take.
You can avoid many wrongs and correct course when you listen to your body. When the Tsunami struck the Andamans, the tribals listened to their body and moved to higher ground. No lives were lost. However, the same was not true for several other places where people drowned.
Many diseases, discomforts, illnesses and ailments can be reversed or avoided by tuning your inner senses.
Why do you need to do this?
Mr Santosh (name changed) is a successful venture capitalist who travels from Singapore to Milan, Europe, the USA, Dubai and India. He is very busy. What do you think will happen to his body, which is surviving across time zones with altered sleep times? Until something happens, you think it feels good to be busy.
All those people who have had a heart ailment or a brain stroke have changed their opinions from being busy to staying healthy. However, a half-spoilt fruit cannot become good again. What is lost is lost forever. You now have a choice to make the best of what is left of you. Is that how you would want it?
The best time to start taking care of your health is now. It doesn’t cost you time. Rather, you learn how to invest your time in keeping well so you can be more and do more while caring for your health. Remember, investing a small amount of time in restoring your health is nothing compared to the exponential cost of recovering from an illness.
